I remember watching the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey
as a kid. It showed a dramatic moment as the manned spacecraft Discovery One
was approaching Jupiter where all four Galilean satellites, not to mention a mysterious black monolith, were aligned in their orbits. Unfortunately, Arthur C. Clarke admitted at the time that they had taken some artistic license in the film because he knew that the moons of Jupiter could never align like that.
